REASONS: Men who lust for power never meet a good end. Commodus took Maximus's family away from him. When you face a man who has nothing to lose but his life, he'll hunt you down till it's over. Commodus even tried to even the odds by stabbing him in the back. Wounded and dying, Maximus still found the strength to stab Commodus in the neck with his own blade.
